Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Swimming In Lipari Review: It Smells Good and Last Long? [2024]

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Swimming In Lipari review. The Light Blue Swimming in Lipari scent by the Dolce&Gabbana brand is an Aromatic Aquatic scent for men that was launched in 2015.
The Top notes of the perfume are Sea Salt and Grapefruit; while the middle notes include Rosemary and Mandarin Orange. The base notes are Ambergris, Musk plus Woody Notes.

The Dolce & Gabbana brand launched new limited editions in Summer 2015 of the well known fragrances Light Blue which is from 2001 as well as Light Blue Pour Homme which is from 2007. Those releases are called Light Blue Sunset in Salina as well as Light Blue Pour Homme Swimming in Lipari.

The latter is a refreshing aquatic scent  that was inspired by Mediterranean waters. The scent opens up with sea salt accords that are enhanced by that freshness from grapefruit. The heart of the perfume combines mandarin plus cool, aromatic rosemary while Ambergris, dry woods plus musky notes round off the composition.

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Swimming In Lipari scent is Available as a forty and one hundred and twenty five ml Eau de Toilette. If you have encountered Bvlgari´s Homme Aqva Marine, you may notice some similarities in the scent.
It has a gorgeous bottle and font that evokes the imagery from the name and its appeal is supplemented by the projection and longevity.

You can overspray this scent if you want since it is not headache inducing. The aquatic notes are really lovely and easy to get used to. You will love the fact that this edition is extra aquatic and marine-based when compared to the former. It’s beautiful without being mediocre and even though the scent is uncomplicated, it is not generic.

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Swimming In Lipari perfume dries down to a really musky and floral note so you should definitely add it to your collection. You will love it especially if you’re into its exquisite aquatic/marine vibe. It is a subtle perfume that you can overspray if you are the sort that is heavy handed with perfumes. This is definitely a keeper and the beautiful bottle will make a nice addition to your collection.

You will find that the more you sniff the scent, the more you fall in love with it. The Longevity and Projection is good and the scent has the ability to transport you to the sea and give you the feeling of swimming in it which is the whole idea of the name in the first place. So, if you are looking for an aquatic scent that’s done tastefully, this is it.

It’s definitely more natural smelling when compared to different synthetic scents out there and if you like simple perfumes, you will like this aquatic. The perfume opens up with a nice projection of saltiness, citrus, and musky notes.

The scent and longevity of Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Swimming In Lipari review

You will find that the opening of the perfume is really oceanic, fresh, crisp, intense, and pleasant. Its grapefruit note can be referred to as the most noticeable note of citrus in it. It is slightly bitter and sharp and introduces the mandarin which brings in its lightly sweet citrus vibe.

The sea salt comes right after and can be seen as its second prominent note since it injects a noticeable seawater touch to the scent that is evocative of not just beaches but the ocean. The base notes include musk and ambergris and they show up when the fragrance is applied without wasting any time to dry down first.

The ambergris is actually the third noticeable note and it brings its earthy, slightly mineral, quite mossy and musky vibe that is not animalic or offensive. Then, the rosemary and woody notes come in as soft support notes, adding a really spicy and woody touch that is not as strong as the featured notes.

Since the scent has different opening to dry-down opportunities, the citrus notes are strong during the opening, before losing some intensity when approaching the dry-down, this allows the sea salt plus ambergris to lead and the initial strong projection slows to moderate. Once Swimming in Lipari reaches its complete dry-down, it is summarized as having a moderate projection.

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Swimming In Lipari is a marine/salty, ambergris scent with citrus that is subtly spicy with woody accords. The scent smells casual, earthy, really fresh, marine, contemporary and musky which comes from the ambergris. It smells oceanic, natural, refreshing, relaxing, quite salty, sporty and tropical. It is also unisex, white, and quite pleasant.

It is a great aquatic scent with a nice oceanic vibe with salt and ambergris as noticeable notes. It is a scent that many people will enjoy as a result of the mass appeal. The projection of the scent is moderate to low and it is about three feet around the wearer while the silage is around three feet behind the wearer. You can apply it as much as you want without being afraid of over spraying since it is not overly sweet.

The longevity is moderate and it lasts for about four hours. The scent projects well for about an hour, then gradually recedes. You can wear it in Spring and summer during Outdoor gatherings, at the gym, casual occasions, holidays, vacations, or to the club. It is a good scent for casual occasions during the annual warm months.

The appeal of Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Swimming In Lipari

Even though the scebt is advertised as masculine, you will find that the notes and the resulting scent are unisex and it can be worn by anyone of any age. It is a great aquatic, salty and musky scent and is a good buy. You can blind buy it if you know how the main notes smell.

If you do not want to get a sample but wish to have an idea of its scent, it has some similarities with Bvlgari Aqua Atlantique EDT, Caron Pour Homme Sport, Chanel Allure Sport, Davidoff Cool Water Wave, Dior Homme Sport EDT, Light Blue Eau Intense, Acqua Di Gio Men, Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey, Mont Blanc Individuel, Nautica Voyage or Polo Ultra Blue.

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Swimming In Lipari is a great marine/salty fragrance with ambergris and grapefruit. It has moderate projection with citrus, light spice, plus woody accords. The scent is casual, earthy and fresh. It is a modern, natural, relaxing, salty and pleasant scent and its opening is quite better than Eau Intense from the same brand since it lacks the sour citrus top note.

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Swimming In Lipari is a purified edition of light blue that focuses on its marine notes when compared to the original and intense version. This makes it a very solid fragrance that is easy to become a fan of. It is a hidden gem and when compared to the original, the pepper notes are quite subtle and when compared to the eau intense, the orange peel note is also less.

This is the perfected version of the light blue DNA as it has a clean and bright refreshing grapefruit kind of opening that is mixed with extra saltiness lacking in the other light blues. The grapefruit recedes slowly then the scent becomes a beautiful white musk.

The light blue projection and sillage in its eau intense version is stronger but this is not bad regardless. You will not regret trying it while it’s still available as it sells out quickly since few shops have it on sale.

Why you should wear the Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Swimming In Lipari

This is a really solid scent that obviously possesses the Light Blue DNA while adding a more salty  and almost savory vibe to the original. The included ambergris is quite tasteful as it feeds off that ambergris/ambroxan trend. You will definitely love it enough to get your own full bottle. You do not become nose blind to the scent very quickly and in general, you will be glad you tried it.

The blend of the notes is amazing and keeps you expecting more without dashing your hopes while offering you something nice that you can wear everyday without being offensive to anyone. It is a pleasant smelling scent that has an advantage in its simplicity which is great for people who like straightforward Scents.

It is not completely generic and the projection and longevity are moderate. If you are looking for a scent that can become your work and gym fragrance or something you grab whenever you want a reliable scent that does not transform into something weird at the bottom, you should get this scent.

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Swimming In Lipari fragrance is one of the ideal modern aquatics that money can buy. Not only do you enjoy the classic DNA of light blue, you will get ample salt and ambergris which makes it more masculine and quite bold especially when compared to other light blue fragrances. It is an amazing scent that is mass appealing , masculine and stands out without overwhelming people.

This scent can become a new staple in your collection as it is one of the well made designer aquatics that are on the market. You will enjoy the longevity, decent projection as well as the good silage and Swimming in Lipari can become your favorite Light Blue version if you are looking for one.

If you do not want something that is extra strong and overwhelming like the intense edition of light blue by the same brand, you will like this scent. Lipari is easy to wear and you will like it if you want something different from the original Light Blue without making drastic changes. You will appreciate the slight tweak to the scent as this is a saltier version of the original that does not stray too far from the DNA but holds its own ground.

Pros

It is a safe scent: This fragrance smells really great especially when you encounter the fresh aquatic opening. This is a safe scent you can wear when you are going to the beach or on any Casual Friday.  The scent also lasts really well on your skin and you will like the intriguing blend of notes.

It has a marine opening: Swimming in Lipari by Dolce & Gabbana is a marine edition of the original Light Blue that is saltier to invoke the ocean. It is a really pleasant citrus that has a marine opening which gives way to a satisfyingly salty dry down. The projection and longevity may not be special, still, this is a neat departure that retains its own character aside from the original.

It is very balanced: The dry down is not prohibitive at all. Even though it is salty, it does not smell stale and the dry down is quite refined. There is nothing mediocre about this scent on the whole and it is definitely worth trying especially if you are optimistic. This is a great scent for the summer and it has great longevity. It is a blend of freshness and sweetness that is very balanced.

The opening is intriguing: The scent has an intriguing opening as you will get the citrus notes, as well as a kind of cucumber smell. Its opening is pretty strong before it becomes fairly nondescript in the dry down after some hours. Summer fragrances are important since there are many lazy editions that are offered in recent years. It is a relief that this is not part of them.

It has a well rounded character: This scent is great particularly because of the ambergris note, since it is one of the main captivating notes. There is a saltiness to the scent that rounds up the character and the floral and citrus notes help it retain its image as a well done aquatic and one of the great aquatic designer scents out there.

Con

The included spice is sometimes not strong enough to be used in warmer fall weather. It can be used as a day scent since the spice is not sufficient in the scent and is great for casual occasions and work.
