Dolce and Gabbana The One Gentleman Perfume Review: Quality or not? [2024]

Dolce and Gabbana The One Gentleman review. The One Gentleman perfume by the Dolce & Gabbana house is an Oriental scent for men that was launched in 2010. The Top note of the scent includes Pepper while the middle notes include Lavender, Cardamom plus watercress. The base notes comprise of Vanilla and Patchouli.

Dolce and Gabbana The One Gentleman is an excellent men’s edition that became available in September 2010. The Dolce & Gabbana brands celebrated 20 years of being in the men’s fashion line in June of that year, so the new fragrance was released to celebrate their anniversary. The Face of the edition is the well-known actor Matthew McConaughey, who was also the face of The One perfume in 2008.

The Photographer for the advertising is Jean-Baptiste Mondino. In the campaign, Gabbana is seen describing advertising pictures in a video in style of Mastroianni. The Composition of The One Gentleman is actually based on oriental notes and it attracts confident and sophisticated clients.

There is pepper, fennel, lavender plus cardamom in the scent while the base contains vanilla and patchouli. The scent is available in vessel that is shaped like the previous original edition and it is available for purchase as a 30, 50 and 100 millimeter Eau De Toilette and comes with  a perfumed body care collection.

Dolce and Gabbana The One Gentleman cab become one of your best fragrances. It is a great designer scent that – in this time of YouTuber & fragcomm community ‘praise’ that leaves people with largely hyped scents and then ‘the rest’ – you will find that this scent is actually very deserving of a really positive review.

You will find that the fragrance itself is sweet even though it is not close to cloying and it is not an overly gourmand vanilla. The scent is lightly sweet and musky. It is a mildly spicy kind of fragrance with a beautiful floral-lavender heart.

The scent is not too strong, it is a well tempered ‘subtle’ scent in the truest sense so it’s not going to actually bowl anyone over with its uniqueness, but it is a great quick grab that sits quite close to your skin and gives off the smell of masculinity, cleanliness, and pleasantness.

The Dolce and Gabbana The One Gentleman perfume opens up with aquatic spices that feel like pepper blended with the sensation of Acqua Di Gio. After it settles, it turns into aquatic cardamom which has a little similarity to D&G The One except that this has a hint of vanilla which turns it into a vanilla plus cardamom sweetness that is lovable.

The scent of Dolce and Gabbana The One Gentleman review

Dolce and Gabbana The One Gentleman is a simple, contemporary, masculine designer scent with echoes of vintage that makes it appeal to 20 and 40-year-olds alike and up. The scent may share no strong note-similarities to its original but it retains its glassy clarity plus simplicity in construction. It also veers more formal and ‘smart’ than the typical mainstream release especially considering the time that both fragrances were released.

It has been around for a while and will continue to be enjoyed for a while lot more. Seek out your own bottle as this scent is attracting some interest considering the little similarities to MFK’s whole ‘style’. They Keyes into the trend of nougeres such as Beau de Jour who brought lavender right back to the front of masculine scents released by designers.

The marketing campaign also needs praise alongside the incredibly pleasant geometric style of the bottle and the lid from The One line. The house definitely got the branding of the scent spot on. The scent was made for non-enthusiastic buyers and my, did it absolutely work! The scent conveys exactly what the fragrance is good for.

In the time before Youtubers and decanters plus all the rest providing a wave of information right before you’ve even experienced a fragrance, the ‘Gentleman’ actually conveys the meaning, purpose, and style without becoming vulgar or outright obscure just to ‘capture’ some response and trick algorithms in boosting its profile.

The appeal never wanes as it has been around for a while and a lot of people have tried it. Either way, this is a great and affordable designer fragrance for men that would definitely knock the socks off extra expensive and less wearable scents that generate more hype. This is a slow burn of a scent that would surely make a great signature scent.

The dry down smells really great and is similar to that of the original. You will find that the scent of this perfume – The One Gentleman is really noticeable and you may be surprised to find that was this one and the original do not really have much in common besides the included cardamom.

The appeal and longevity of Dolce and Gabbana’s The One Gentleman

In the perfume, you will find that the included Pepper, Cardamom, the Vanilla, and Patchouli actually come out instantly while the Lavender and the Fennel are simply a sniff behind. The combination of these notes  creates a Vanilla, Lavender, plus Leathery essence which glistens in the Patchouli Woodsy forest.

At a sniff, you will be able to tell the link to the ONE; even though this one is a little sweeter and lighter, and its spices are bit less prominent even though they are always present. It will come off to you as being a fresher, semi-sweet and leathery patchouli from The ONE original and it can be a little confusing since no leather notes were listed, but still, it simply comes off that way.

If you look at the notes, one may think that the scent would be only for fall and winter, but the notes were blended to the point that the heavier notes don’t really dominate the scent which lets the freshness and sweetness in it to be pulled off in Spring. If you want something heavier for the colder months, this scent is still ideal as it possesses those ever present spices that bring warmth.

It lacks the bite from the notes from the newer ONE EDP which makes it even better for Spring and subtle Summer days. If you are a fan of this line, you will notice that this fragrance is actually lighter than the original as well as the newer sibling ONE EDP, while being deeper than the aforementioned. The scent is equivalent in silage plus projection from the original while having darker notes.

If you are wearing it out during the cold, the scent many not be as strong as the original, but it projects enough that it will get noticed. Its notes and the scent fits the colder months and this is an ideal signature scent so be gentle with the trigger since it is strong considering what it is. Its longevity is good as it lasts four to eight hours while having a medium radius projection.

The scent may not fill a room, but it will definitely work in a living room and will work fine in an office. Of the different fragrances from the house line from the ONE’s DNA, this one is actually blended together seamlessly. A lot of people will like it in you and if you fancy a lighter ONE or ONE with a little edge, this can be for you. The included sweetness makes the extra playful when compared to its counterparts.

Why you should wear Dolce and Gabbana’s The One Gentleman

There is some brightness in the scent and if you want something for a movie date, to wear to the office, or for a dinner taking place in the fall, this scent is a winner. Also, if you need to go out in the winter or be inside and close to people, this is a great fragrance for that. You can sit in right with your loved ones and simply bask in its fresh spiciness.

This is a nice fragrance that is different enough when compared to the original so it is worthy of a flanker. It is also Similar enough to the original that it does not warrant a line. The overall scent of Gentleman is nice, not too sweet, and extra mature than the original. You will like the tobacco scent in it since it is noticeable though tobacco isn’t listed.

You can even layer it to balance out this scent but if you fancy tobacco scents, you will fancy this one. It smells deliciously masculine and you will enjoy wearing it because of how sexy it smells. It can be a great gift for a man in your life. This is a premium sample of what your flanker should be a as it lasts well on your skin, and is definitely different enough to for purchase.

You will get a clear and distinctive opening alongside the middle and base notes. This is an enjoyable experience and is a very underrated gem. The scent possesses beautiful cardamom plus a slightly zesty touch right in its opening notes which stay with you for some time before the magic begins to happen.

For about three to four hours it constantly projects the vanilla and spicy middle note and you cannot get bored of the scent because it beautifully settles into the base of patchouli plus lavender with ample spice left in it for about six to eight hours.

This is a great formal workplace crowd pleaser and you will like how the juice evolves when you wear it. It can be your very own signature fragrance even if you are not a fan of the line. You will definitely fancy the well-balanced blend of this perfume and if you have encountered Beckham´s Instinct After Dark, you may notice some similarities in it.

Pros

The scent fits the name: This fragrance actually earns the gentleman name since It’s a nice, formal fragrance that is great for work or when you dress up more. The scent is inoffensive but not your typical mall scent and the prices are reasonable. Bother the bottle and the juice looks nice and the vanilla, lavender, plus pepper actually work well together. The scent comes across as being warm scent without being a gourmand type of scent.

It is spicy and warm: The One Gentleman is spicy and warm. However, the included lavender and watercress actually make it cool. At first, it may feel like two colognes fighting for dominance but the opposites work well together. The scent is pleasant and not too strong in any direction. It is exceedingly fresh, tremendously sweet and downright sexy and belongs in your collection.

It is creamy: This is a well-made and quite pleasant scent that lots of enjoyable elements. It’s not considered a dramatic grand slam, still, it’s unassumingly well crafted and pleasing to wear. The scent is best described as “creamy wood” and immediately the super-smooth spices plus the sweet lavender from the opening dry down, you will detect the round, pleasant woods with light patchouli accord.

It is rich and balanced: The included woods adds a dry richness to the scent that balances the sweetness from the patch and vanilla. It is a nice fragrance that can be used in various environments. Its silage and longevity are average, slightly bordering on light, but it is not cloying at all since the blend has it about right.

It is a safe scent: The One Gentleman smells like vanilla, cardamom plus lavender, with a hint of the awesome spices. You will find that it smells really nice at the top and the dry down, though different still smells good. It does not suffer from performance issues and lasts with a decent projection right at the beginning. This scent is Very safe smells really good.

Cons

Even though this is not a downside for some, Dolce and Gabbana The One Gentleman perfume contains heavy pepper and if you are allergic, react negatively to it or ample spices in fragrances constantly make you feel like your blood is rushing furiously to your ears and cheeks, this perfume may not be for you.
