10 Best Rose Perfumes for Women & Men That Last Longer [2024]
I don’t know if there is anybody that doesn’t like roses. The flower has been there for millions of years (I think 32 million years, actually) and no one has come out (officially) to declare it an enemy. As you would have also noticed, roses are usually used as the representative of flowers.
When you think of flowers, you will think of roses. Our minds and senses have been conditioned to see roses as the king as well as the queen of flowers. But is that the only reason roses are loved? I don’t think so.
Roses are loved for several reasons. The first one is that the flowers are beautiful. They are very lovely and beautiful to look at. They have this enchanting elegant nature that comes from how the petals are formed and coloured. The smoothness and softness of the petals also add to their beauty. The truth is, you can’t look at roses and not love them.
The next reason roses are loved is that they are easy to find. As delicate as this flower is, it is friendly and adaptable to almost every climate. You can plant them in your garden, avenues, and even the balcony and they will survive. Who wouldn’t want to have such an amazing flower close to him?
You may also need to know that roses are edible. Well, the petals are not poisonous and they are used by some people to flavour their homemade jams. You can also use them to flavour other dishes. If you want to do this, do further research to obtain all the information you need before consuming the flower petals.
Roses are also symbolic. For instance, we see roses on the logos of some companies, the emblem of some countries, and the emojis in many texts. These are all symbolic. For instance, red roses are usually used to symbolise love and romance. That’s why we use them a lot during Valentine’s Day.
White roses, on the other hand, symbolises purity. If you can use them as your wedding bouquet, that will be amazing. So, once we see roses, we smile because of what they represent to us.
The last amazing thing about roses that cause people to fall in love with them is their fragrance. The scent of roses cannot be equated with that of any other flower.
This is why Roses is the most preferred flower for making perfumes. The fragrance of roses is so unique that you can get different notes from them.
For instance, roses can offer you spicy notes, citrusy notes, floral notes, sweet notes, musky scent, honey notes, fruity smell, minty notes, and green notes. Now you understand why perfumes made from roses are valued all over the world.
But the question we asked here is, “Do you love roses?” We can rephrase it to, “Do you love rose perfumes?” I hope you do because we are here to present the 10 best rose perfumes you will love to have.

Some Technical Terms You Should Know about Perfumes
In this article, we are going to review the perfumes we are bringing to you. We will present you with the nature of the perfumes so you can understand what they smell like, how long they last, and how strong their projections are. Hence, you will find sections that discuss the perfumes’ main accords, notes, longevity, and sillage. Let’s look at these terms one after the other so you can tell what they mean when you find them.
Perfumes Main Accords
The main accords of perfumes refer to the imagination the perfumes evoke in people. As you spray perfumes, the fragrances remind you of something. For instance, they can remind you of chocolates, white flowers, citrus fruits, nuts, roses, and so on. These imaginations are possible because of the scents contained in the perfumes.
For instance, you cannot imagine roses if the rose scents weren’t added to the perfume. Hence, the main accords of perfumes you will meet here will reveal how the perfume will make you feel as well as tell you the scents you will perceive.
The Perfume Notes
Notes in perfumery refer to the depth of scents a perfume has. You can use the term interchangeably with scents. However, notes are slightly different because they are more defined than scents.
Sometimes, perfume makers formulate their perfumes so that their notes are released in batches. In this review, you may find the notes of some perfumes analysed as top notes, middle notes, and base notes. This is done to let you know that the perfumes’ fragrances are activated in batches. We will explain these terms separately to throw more light on them.

Top Notes of Perfumes
Top notes, also known as headnotes, refer to the first set of fragrances (or in some cases, fragrance) that is released the moment the content of a bottle of perfume is released. That moment you sprayed or rubbed your perfume, the scents that wafted are known as top notes.
In most perfumes, top notes dissipate after ten to fifteen minutes to give room for other sets of fragrances to take over. This is why it is not wise to buy a bottle of perfume immediately after you checked out its smell. You should wait for some minutes so that it can dry down to the middle notes.
Middle Notes of Perfumes
When the top notes dissipate, they give room for the middle notes to take over. The middle notes may share some fragrances with the top notes or be entirely different. Note that some perfumes do not have the top, middle, and base notes because they were created to release all their scents at the same time.
However, for those formulated to release their notes in batches, the middle notes come up when the top notes have left the stage. The middle notes will stay on stage to perform for some hours, depending on the longevity of the perfume, before leaving the stage for the base notes. So, remember to go for perfumes with the middle notes you love because you’re going to have a long session with them.
Base Notes of Perfumes
As you would have guessed, the base notes of any perfume are the group of scents that are released after the middle notes have gone weak and left. These notes stay on your clothes and skin for hours until you have a bath or wash your clothes. They are the scents that make sure you don’t smell awful after the exuberant top notes and the hardworking middle notes have gone.
You may not need to wait for hours for this note to be released before you pick your choice perfume bottle but you can determine what they are by reading reviews about the perfume. You should also go for perfumes that have the type of base notes you love.
The Longevity of Perfumes
The longevity of perfumes simply means how long their scents last on skins and clothes. Some perfumes are said to have eternal longevity because they can last longer than 12 hours. Some have long-lasting longevity because they can last up to 12 hours. You can find those with moderate longevity because their scents last up to 7 hours.
There are perfumes with weak longevity (they last up to 4 or 5 hours) and those with very weak longevity (they cannot last longer than 3 or 4 hours). Hence, in this review, you will find longevity described as:
- Eternal
- Long-lasting
- Moderate
- Weak
- Very weak
The Sillage of Perfumes
Sillage in perfumery simply refers to the level of projection the fragrance of perfume has. If it is so strong that it continues to smell strongly in a room long after it was sprayed or it can be smelt on the wearer from a far distance, the sillage is said to be enormous.
If the sillage is strong but not as bold, loud, and intimidating as that of enormous sillage, it is said to be strong. If the perfume can be smelt in a room immediately after it was sprayed or applied but is subtle, the sillage is described as moderate.
And, if it is so subtle you can only smell it on the wearer when you come too close to him or her (you may not smell it when it is sprayed or applied), the perfume’s sillage is said to be intimate. Hence, the perfumes’ sillage is described in this review as:
- Enormous
- Strong
- Moderate
- Intimate
